Raw Chocolate Vegan Slice feat True Protein
In search of something to satisfy my sweet tooth, without loads of sugar, and without requiring 30 random ingredients that I don’t have. I came across a Steph MacDonald recipe, but tweaked it a little. Here is what I came up with.
Raw Chocolate Vegan Slice
Base:
50g Chocolate Vegan True Protein powder
50g Peanut Butter
50ml any milk - I used Coconut Milk
Centre:
30g Honey
30g Peanut Butter
20ml milk
Chocolate:
50g raw cacao butter
15g raw cacao powder
25g maple syrup
1/4 tsp vanilla essence
I doubled the chocolate ingrediemts and made some plain raw chocolate with the left over :)
Method
Mix all the base ingredients together and then press into a tin. I kept my layers quite thin so that I would have more to slice and keep. It also helps keep the calories lower per serve. If I had a thicker slice I would for sure still have the same size :) I used a slice tray, and a thin layer covered approx 3/4 of the tray.
Next mix the centre ingredients together. Add milk slowly until it is a spreadable consistency, not too runny. Layer on top of the base and then place in the fridge to firm up.
Once the first 2 layers feel firm enough start making the chocolate covering. Place the cacao butter in a bowl over boiling water to melt. Once melted stir through the cacao powder and maple syrup.
Remove your base from the fridge and slice into suitable sized squares, Dip these squares into the chocolate, then place on a plate covered in baking paper. Place in fridge or freezer to set.
Store in fridge or freezer, and there you have yourself a little something to have when the mood takes you.
